Professor Fineus was sitting at her desk in the large room where transfiguration would take place. It was right before lunch and her Seventh Year Slytherin Gryffindor class should be entering the room here shortly. Soon the quiet would be gone, the desks around the room filled, and the essence of Magic filling the room. The windows were open now, bringing in sunlight and the desk at the center, at which Fineus sat, was a dark oak, covering most of the free spae in the room. Posters lined the walls: posters of the rules, of great Transfiguration Capable Wizards, posters of the previous teachers, and posters of the Slytherin Quidditch team.

The professor did not have much time to take in the room before the Seventh Years piled in. The room was now filled with the talking of students and the door opening and closing. The bell rang once again and Fineus magically sealed the door. Tardiness from Third Years and above was not tolerated, even on the first day. This was the first year that Fineus was teaching at Hogwarts, since the tragedy of Minerva McGonagall happened, and the students were not at all surprised.

Using her wand to close the windows and stop all light, other than those from above, entering the room, the short lady began to speak. "Good morning class. Today we will be refreshing our mind on vanishing spells. On each of your desks there will be a large black dog that you will need to vanish by the end of class. Here," she tapped her wand against the board, "are the incantations for the spell in case you forgot. If you have any questions raise your hand as I walk around the room. Now please begin."

OOC:whats the spell for the vanishing spell?

IC:Selendrile was this time not actually late for class. she was listening intently to the new professors directions, for Selendrile always wanted good marks.

Selendrile re-read the board more than once to make sure she had it right. she thought she finally did so she began.

OOC: I have no idea, they never released that information in the books, so you don't have to say the incantation.

IC: Professor Fineus tried to stay in her seat, but she could not resist the temptation to walk around the class and observe her fellow students. She thought back to her days in this classroom, not very long ago, taught by Professor McGonagal, and how she used to have to watch for the teacher while talking to her friends. The good thing about not being so old is that you still remember what school is like and you know many of the tricks.

There was a young, dark haired, girl sitting in the back of the room studying the board very intently. Berta decided that she would keep her eye on the girl and see how well she did. This was the year for N.E.W.T.S, but the professor knew how much she hated being reminded of that, though ocassionaly she would have to remind the students, so she would watch the students closely and figure out what they would need to do. Vanishing spells would not be on the NEWTS but it was a good refresher course.

"this is simply to easy" She thought to herself.

The Professor came over to her.

The Head of Slytherin was watching Selendrile very closly. She had known her only by her name on the list of those in Slytherin when she had taken over the position, but had seen her a couple times around the common room. The girl had only attempted the spell once before her dog had completely vanished and seemed ready to move on to something else. Walking over to the girl the professor pulled out her own wand.

"Quiet down class. This young lady over here has accomplished the task. Please watch her carefully to try and better your attempts," and with a wave of her wand the dog reappeard.

Once Selendrile had succcesfully vanished the dog once more the professor spoke again, "Ten points towards Slytherin and you are immune to the homework tonight. The rest of you keep practicing and you," she said pointing to Selendrile, "may work on summoning charms. I would really like a nice tea glass for my desk if you can manage that and maybe some tea to go with it. NEWT level magic that is."

Selendrile was listening very intently to her head of house.

The other Slytherins cheered when she got them ten points. She felt kind of proud for that.

Selendrile was thinking of the charm for summoning something, then it came to her.She raised her wand and said the charm. A glass appeared on the Professors desk, but there was nothing in it. Selendrile attempted once again this time succeeding.

Selendrile noticed that everyones eyes were on her.

"Good good, another ten points to Slytherin," Berta spoke loudly. "You may read now, class is almost over."

Berta walked around her transfiguration class helping students to get the proper wand motion down, the proper pronunciation of the spell, and awarding twenty points to Gryffindor for being the first student out of the class to get the spell perfectly correct on a much harder animal. The Gryffindor Slytherin classes always were bad because of the petty student rivalry between houses and the teachers were always to blame when one house was awarded points and the other not.

"Class dismissed," Berta spoke with her voice amplified by her wand.

OOC: I will post again in one days time for the next class lesson, in this topic

After the urgent meeting by the Order Berta was very tired, but the weekend was now over and classes were to begin again. First class monday was the Seventh Year Gryffindor-Slytherin class, not a very fun class, but there was not much fun in teaching those that already know, in trying to make them do something they think they already know how to do. Well, todays assignment would not be easy, they would, finally, be conjuring inanimate objects, but not just a simple glass or anything, no, the really hard stuff, the stuff needed to make sure that they could protect themselves, or, perhaps they would start on self transfiguration.

The doors opened to the classroom and students began filing in
